I really am quite happy with it, too. I'm hoping they'll really snuggle up to it in the winter. Right now they either just sit in it, or lay ACROSS it instead of IN it. I wish I had a pic of them, but I have to go to my mom's house to take pictures. Still, I thought I needed SOME kind of animal pic... here is my parents' dog sniffing, and sniffing... and sniffing... at the lingering kitty smell. For those of you who don't know, a swap is where two people craft, usually to a theme, and send each other their crafts. It's a big thing on craftster.org, so check it out. Anway, this is the stuff I sent and made for the swap. Can you guess the theme? C'mon, it's easy.

Coasters that came out, "eh". They had the potential to be really cool, but I didn't think a few things thru. Like putting white paper underneath the image, so the black paint wouldn't show thru, and some other stuff. Oh well.

A new quart sized paint can with a cat embroidery I did on the front. I used paper to cover the rest, and put a ribbon around the whole thing. The top has stickers on it that say "yum". I really like this item.

I also knitted this scarf! My bro is shy and didn't let me get his head in the pic. :) I love this scarf, I just may have to make me another.

This swap was great experience, but I feel like I did bite off a little more than I could chew. I was late sending it out, and felt more overwhelmed than excited. Still, I loved doing it, and would love to try another (less intimidating) swap soon!

I am Mohair

Another one of these silly YET craft related quizzes... they're such a good space filler. :)

You are Mohair.
You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. I know I shouldn't think this way, but I do.

I would like to do it more, and get into the crazy stuff like chain maille (sp?) and longer term stuff like that. It just isn't near as fun to have a craft blog when you don't have a camera. But hopefully withing a few days I will have a FO or two, and I'll bum my parent's camera to take a pic. In the mean time, I took a "What kind of knitting needle are you" quiz, and, like these things always manage to do, mine is pretty accurate.

You are bamboo.
Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and
enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. I work at a bank and we're having "tropical week" as a promotion/ invest in your future type thing. So my manager decides we should have a pineapple decorating contest. Here's my pineapple, so far everyone loves him! Or at least is a bit creeped out by him, which, in my opinion is even better.

Right now he's proudly sitting on my window waving at all of my customers. He was actually inspired BY my customers, 'cause when I'm looking down a looong line of people waiting to be helped, all I see are their PIERCING eyeballs staring me down. Of course, I leave this part out when people ask about how I got the idea, hehehee....

And yes, he's holding a deposit slip and money. And yes, that IS (or was) Mr. Potato Head's arms and feet. Heh. Silly pineapple.

My bf was afraid it would be too creepy for the kids that come into the bank, but they are the ones that like it the best! I mean, isn't it usually kids who aren't afraid of worms and snakes and creepy stuff?

As I'm sitting here typing this, my desk and floor is still COVERED wit googely eyes and left over Mr. Potato Head parts. What a mess. I tend to spreeeaaad out when doing a project, and feel so unmotivated by the end of it I don't feel like cleaning up. I feel like I'm a mad scientist in my laboratory, muhahahahaaa....

I have a lot of people tell me it's creepy, which is sooo fun 'cause when you work at a bank it's hard to express the more... abstract side of yourself.

One of my regulars told me it reminded her of this reoccuring dream she used to have as a kid where all of her pores would open up and ants would crawl out by the hundereds. Gross! Creepy dream. Poor thing wouldn't come in my line all week. HOWEVER, the point of this sock journey was not to create a masterpiece, but to create more of a... rough draft, if you will.

And you thought I was exaggerating. I'm determined to finish them though, but I'm learning that the uglier your project, the harder it is to get motivated to work on it.

On a lighter note, DPN's are a breeze. Especially once you get a few inches down, because the sock becomes stiff enough to sort of hold your needles sort of still. My fave trick, however, is to knit in pajama's and put the needle I'm working off of stuck in the knot of my drawstring. Hehheee it works too, and doesn't flop all over the place!

Here's the tunnel vision picture of my sock. Man, this thing is ugly. :p

DPN's, Dun dun DUN!!!

I am going to knit socks. On double pointed needles. Scary.

Today I went downtown to the Yarn Garden and got some sock yarn to knit the Pippi Knee Stockings from the SNB book. Their selection of this particular yarn was HORRIBLE, so my socks are subjected to the few colors they had. But it should be okay, 'cause they're pretty springy. Bright pink, green, gray, and white. We'll see how they turn out.

Mostly I'm just excited to be trying DPN's, I keep hearing they're easy once you just get going. I'll post a pic as soon as I: A- find my camera, B- buy a new camera, or C- borrow mom and dad's camera.

It Just Grew Legs !!

I haven't been posting because I lost my digital camera!! I can't believe it. I'm so frustrated, because really, it has to be somewhere TOTALLY obvious. I couldn't have left it anywhere weird, 'cause it didn't have batteries in it. I can't help but wonder if it was stolen from my computer desk, but everyone says I'm just being paranoid.

Still, it would have been so easy for the old tenants, (when snooping in our back yard for their doghouse they left,) to see thru the window, notice that my camera was in arm's reach if the window was opened, open the window, and take the camera. I swear I'm not usually this freakishly paraniod, but... I just can't find it ANYWHERE!!

Anyway, I'm lost without it. And what fun is a craft blog with no pictures?? :( This sucks.

Easter Chickadees

Now this is one hot chick. Easter's on its way, so I decided to knit these puppies (chicks, whatever,) up for the youngsters in Jordon's family. And with the size of his family, that's a lotta little fluffballs...

I found the perfect eyelash yarn with chunks of "fluff" on them that feels so feathery and soft. They're cozies for the little plastic easter eggs which I'm going to fill with candy. I also added name tags on them to personalize them a bit. These were so fun!!

And thanks to "kittenporn" from Craftster, (couldn't she have picked a different name?) for the idea and inspiration.

Valentines Day Stuff, w00t!

Okay, so tomorrow's Valentine's Day. Yay. This is the first year I have actually gotten into the whole mushy pink hearts thing, but it was actually a lot of fun.

I got Jordon a waay to expensive dart board and darts. I was going to buy him a card and wrapping paper too, but his actual present drained the checking account. Oops! Instead I just made them.

I'm posting the original picture of us also, so it can be seen what was done.

I edited our pic in Roxio Photosuite 4 (shrunk it down, made it purple, and added a black border), then I "cut and pasted" it a bunch of times, (computer terms, not by hand) and randomly mingled them 'till I got the look I liked.

It's kinda gradeschoolish, but I like it that way. Valentine's Day is a cheezy holiday anyway. :-p Hope he likes it! w00t!

Big Bad Baby Blanket

My BBBB. I haven't worked on it in about three months, despite the fact that it's 3/4 done. It's just such a pain to tote around with me.

It was once intended for my fiance's unborn neice who's now 7 months old ::cough:: but since it's my first big project, I think I'll keep it for myself.

I told Jordon, (the fiance) that we need to pop out a baby girl just so I can put my masterpiece to work, lol!!
